one more thing... tekserve seems to be taking a cue from Apple in this area as well....
Chad ... I feel strongly about this and I know they discriminate... I went to a Apple store interview and I was in a group of potential employees who were 90% black and asian and hispanic .. the type that you see in a typical best buy store... none got hired... its not that they are not applying to Apple .. its just that they dont get HIRED by Apple. But get off a plane from Seattle or Iowa and you got a job. Lets get together and do something about this.
Othello you hit a nail on the head. Apple has a HUGE problem here and it needs to be addressed. Asian, Indian and Latino communities have plenty of qualified recent (local) tech graduates that would love to have health insurance too.
Hey Baratunde, Can any one explain why the Apple stores in NYC don't employ sales staff that reflect the diversity of the city the way that say, Best Buy does? I often see this diversity desert in the hipster tech space...(unless the person of color has dreds or cornrows).. they seem to be absent or in very small numbers... in these circles (yourself being an exception).
