« previous episode | next episode »

Friday, January 29, 1988

There's more to contemporary Irish music than jigs and reels. On this program, harpist Derek Bell plays an excerpt from Sean O'Riada's 30-year-old Gaelic Mass and Planxty combines old and new with "Taimse Im Chodiadh," for bagpipes and synthesizer. Plus, a number of Irish musicians now living in the U.S. perform works for various combinations of instruments and voices.
