Program #55

A 1987 blast From the Vaults greets the New Sounds listener on this program featuring music for the extended accordion, (and that family of instruments.) Listen to Dino Saluzzi and his bandoneon, from the classic 1985 ECM recording, “Once upon a time, far away in the south.” Plus, there’s Pauline Oliveros’ haunting accordion over a pulsing drone, and new music from “New York's master of the squeeze,” Guy Klucevsek. Hear his “Blue Window” along with Lois V. Vierk’s epic piece, "Manhattan Cascade," which builds to four accordions, all played by Klucevsek.
