Program #2069

Sunday, July 04, 2004

Once an earthy dance of the brothels and cafes in Argentina's slums, the tango has evolved considerably over the last 50 years, growing in sophistication and its ability to morph with other genres and styles. Recent examples of this infectuous dance music are featured on this edition of New Sounds, including works by from Daniele de Bonaventura, Mihaly Vig, Kef, Maria Kalaniemi, and others.
