Uptown and Downtown, the New Sounds Live/New York Guitar Festival 2002 covered plenty of fertile ground, musical and otherwise. Performances from Joe's Pub and the 92nd St. Y take center stage, beginning with duets performed by guitarist Justin Adams (pictured) and percussionist Salah Dawson Miller. Another series of duets features acoustic guitarist/composer Artie Traum and slide guitarist Cindy Cashdollar (the rollicking "Dark Road Blues" and "Dixie Pig BBQ Blues"). Rounding out the program is a show-stopping performance by multi-instrumentalist Elliot Sharp.
