Philip Glass introduces his soundtrack to the third chapter in the Godfrey Reggio Qatsi trilogy, "Naqoyqatsi." In the first two chapters ("Koyaanisqatsi," 1983; "Powaqqatsi," 1988), Glass's striking scores were as memorable as the groundbreaking film visuals: time-lapse shots of man and nature in conflict. In the latest installment, master cellist Yo-Yo Ma joins the collaborative mix, presenting the composer's brooding, lyrical lines and elevating the work to a de facto Ma cello concerto. As the film's subtitle ("life in war") indicates, listeners are in for dramatic results.
