New music for dance takes center stage on this edition of New Sounds. The bootie-shaking gets underway with music by Michael Galasso, the Italian composer who recently scored a success with his soundtrack to the 2000 Wong Kar-Wai film, In the Mood for Love. Here we feature music from his "Dream Play" (ECM Records) and "Lady From The Stars." Other selections include Peter Gordon and Love of Life Orchestra's "Romance," and an excerpt from Philip Glass's Dance #5.

PROGRAM #1823, music for the dance. (First aired on 9/11/00)
