Thank fully I did not drink the Kool- Aid with the Obama supporters. So I didn’t expect that much of him nor of the Democratic Party.
The fact is America and it’s political system can never produce a real European style left leaning president. This society is too conservative and reactionary for that.

Obama is a center right corporatist. He is not a liberal, not even much of a progressive.

People who voted for change away from BushCo and the Republican visions got snookered.

This confirms that we have a president of impeccable character which is the foremost quality in a leader.

Any military person of any kind who objects to civilian control of the military has no place whatsoever in the military. The Constitution is perfectly clear on control of the military. Command resides in the Executive branch. Funding in the Legislative.

To contend otherwise, if a military figure were to do so, certainly approaches the line of treason (if not outright crossing it).

Why did Obama do health INSURANCE reform first?

Obama told us that he was working on health INSURANCE reform, not health CARE reform. So, perhaps, he felt the Big Health Insurance Players (BHIPs) needed the mandates ASAP bcz otherwise they were on a downward trajectory business-plan wise.

The BHIPs were going to lose more and more customers as they priced their products way beyond the means of most people to purchase them. The only way they were going to stay profitable and viable was to have mandates that their offerings be purchased by as many people as possible.

Obama provided that. And the public's wishes be damned. BHIPs wre going to get their mandates, no matter how much it actually cost, in dollars to maintain BHIP profitability and in votes for Dems in 2010 and 2012.

Obama may have made a pact with the devils to ensure his early and ongoing donations from Big Bidnesses (it is a myth that he received most of his donations from small donors, btw): He would get them their bailouts -- as the Banksters got direct bailouts, the BHIPs indirect bailouts. Both got government muscle ensuring they got their money from the public.
