Thank you Leoard. Like trout, you've learned to swim up stream preferring fresh water streams to salty oceans. I hope Blogo walks. The Chicago Feds wasting taxpayer's money, once again.

Wow! Geraldo and Blago on the same show! Wasn't Bozo the Clown available, too?!

Is WNYC going the same (low) route as the NY Times has been for the past few years?

Seriously Leonard, I agree with just about everyone who posted, why on Earth is this guy on your show??? Are you serious? Sorry but I just turned off my radio because I could not listen to anymore of this crap. When this segment is over I'll return.

This man is a waste of air time. I am disappointed in this programming. Please end this interview now.

This guy is amazing. No matter what the charge and from which source it's an 'outrageous accusation' and nothing less than a pack of lies. Despite identifiable recordings and a mountain of accusations from all sectors we're supposed to believe the whole world is conspiring to get Rod Blagojevich. The *bleeping nerve this guy has is too *bleeping much for me to wrap my *bleeping head around. Possibly beneath this show but fascinating and infuriating all the same.

*those bleeps were not, in fact, bleeps.

Minnieapolis Star Tribune:

One of the four conversations was with Blagojevich's brother, who reported about a talk with the racetrack operator. "He said, 'You know, I'm good for it. I got to just decide what, what accounts to get it out of,' " Robert Blagojevich says.

"Right," Rod Blagojevich replies. "Before the end of the year, though, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, there was no waffling there," Robert says.

After more back-and-forth, the governor repeats, "But clearly before the end of the year, right?"

Blagojevich was seeking the money in return for signing legislation that benefited the racing industry, said Ellis and federal prosecutors, who contend that the two-term Democratic governor repeatedly tried to shake down people seeking state business.

Can you ask him how is it possible that his former chief of staff admitted wrong doing?

Really?! Leonard?! Rod Blagojevich?! I tried. Can't listen to this anymore. We have better things to do with our time, don't we?!

Sep. 14 2009 12:29 PM

If he can't defend himself then why did he write his book and why is he on?

I always thought it was inappropriate that he got ousted from office the way he did, ie without a trial.

But listening to him now doesn't exactly prompt one to presume his innocence...If I were his principal he would be in detention!

He just sounds ridiculous, unsophisticated, and desperate. Leonard, I'm surprised that you're grabbing this low-hanging--and low-living--fruit!

Congressmen and women are not appointed to fill empty seats like Senators are. Special elections are called so Blago is clearly lying. Can Leonard ask him about this?

I fail to understand why Mr. Blagojevich is going on a seemingly endless publicity blitz, even parading his own wife about as a bewildered reality star for us to snigger at, hiring himself out as a karaoke Elvis impersonator, etc. --- isn't even this book, like everything else he's doing, all about making money? and wouldn't a plea of innocence or any other concerted efforts to "set the record straight" be better directed at an audience that stands to influence the outcome of all this? frankly, the public doesn't care about what trouble he's in, can do nothing to change it, and only find his ongoing presence in the media a source of entertainment. spend more time with your lawyers, and on preparing your case, sir.

Nauseating. He just confirms the funny yet disheartening motto heard back in the day growing up in old Daley's Chicago: vote early, vote often...

I moved to NYC from Chicago a few years ago. Blagojevich's propensity to make extravagant promises and claims is well know there. There is far more emphasis on the dramatic than there is on actual statesmanship. I have never experienced a more shameless name dropper, daring anyone to smear mud on him lest they also spatter his betters. Or perhaps trying to steal some of their sunlight. Blagojevich should be ashamed of himself, he certainly shames the state of Illinois.

Sep. 14 2009 12:15 PM

How is it possible that all media is the platform for corrupt politicians to come and "explain" themselves. If this so called politician is given this opportunity, I would like to hear what OJ Simpson has to say, why not give him the same opportunity.
