Kent suggested that "Mr. Fletcher should be more candid about the fact that he is Jewish and how that may color his reporting of the Isreali/Palestinian conflict."

And how was he not candid? He discussed in this interview with Lopate how he comes from a family of Holocaust refugees, which settled in Britain and that he is currently married to an Israeli and lives in Israel. Do you think he should start every interview with "I'm the Jew Martin Fletcher". He also discussed in the Lopate interview the fact that he makes a point of not bringing his own family background into his reporting, although he has his own views.

To Martin Fletcher , about why Black Americans do not support African countries. I have news. I view myself as an American that happens to be black. Remember our cultural identity was destroyed,and Blck Americans do not have the cultural identity that the Jews are very fortunate to have. My family has fought in combat in every American war from and inculding the Civil War to todays war. A family member was lost on the USS Cole. My family only identifies with this country and no other.

CORRECTION MEANT TO WRITE ABOVE:

2. Comparison with Jews and Israel only highlights historical differences in development of the two communinities. Black American ties with Africa much less developed than American Jewish ties to Israel. Maybe the phenomenon is not so surpising in light of different histories of the two communities?

Mr. Fletcher expresses surprise at lack of american coveragw. Two points:

1. "Black Press" such as Amsterdam News covers african events more than general press, tho still not always comprehensively;

2. Comparison with Jews and Israel only highlights historical differences in development of the two communinities. Black American ties with Africa much less developed than American Black ties to African Continent. Maybe not so surpising?

yes, plo pr (the "p" part alone!) seems to this pr professional as brilliant as Israel's has been incompetent. Every battle seems Israel's fault. how important is effective pr in this region?

I believe that Israel has done a very poor job of getting the media to report their point of you in recent years. Does Mr. Fletcher have any thoughts on how the media portrays Israel now that may or may not be fair?

Does Mr. Fletcher see many if any differences in the Viet Nam invasion as well as the Iraq invasion?

Media coverage?

Reason for invading?

Cost to America?
