Van Cliburn getting a standing ovation after playing Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano concerto at the the Mann Auditorium, Tel Aviv, Israel, 1962

American pianist Van Cliburn (1934-2013) will forever be remembered for one phenomenal Cold War moment.  Everyone knew the twenty-three year old from Texas was good, but no one expected him to steal the show in Moscow in 1958. (Produced in 2008)
