Norwegian novelist Per Petterson tells us about his new novel Out Sealing Horses, about two older men confronting their shared past as they prepare for winter in a remote part of Norway. And he talks about his previous novel In the Wake, which was his American debut.

I'm an old time radio listener now listening daily to WNYC-FM. I am new to the electronic age at 77 yrs. and happened onto this broadcast while searching for a previous Lopate program. Wonderful and insightful. I will look up Petterson's book in our library. Thank you.
