British composer Paul Reade (1943-1997) was a throwback in contemporary music, writing several popular ballets in an overtly romantic style. His theme for the BBC TV series "The Victorian Kitchen Garden" (in which a weedy old garden was restored using century-old means) became one of the most familiar tunes in the UK; we hear the suite version of Reade's work, featuring clarinetist Emma Johnson.
