Risking Death for Freedom: An Escaped Survivor Looks Back at Vietnam
The Takeaway | Apr 22, 2015
In 1975, just days before Saigon fell to the Viet Cong, 13-year-old Pascale Phuong Dang escaped Vietnam with her mother. Her father and two older siblings remained behind and were sent to reeducation camps.

For The First Days Story Project, a collaboration of PBS's American Experience, WGBHÂ and Story Corps, Pascale recounts the tale to a friend.Â
