John Schaefer's latest desk configuration - the wall

For this New Sounds, John Schaefer sifts through the avalanche of physical submissions stacked dangerously in his office to find a sampling of new releases worthy of showcasing in tonight's New Sounds program.  Also, he'll cull through the digital offerings and look back at some of the things that came out during 2016 that might have gone unnoticed on the chaos that is his desk, and ahead to some of the things that 2017 holds.

Listen to forthcoming records from Max Richter and Theo Bleckmann. Also, hear recent music from a recent release by Katie Melua along with the Gori Women's Choir, from Georgia. Plus, continuous music for solo piano by Lubomyr Melnyk, as well as something by the Klezmatics for their 30th anniversary.
