Peter Allen, the announcer for the Metropolitan Opera’s Saturday Afternoon Radio Broadcasts for the past 29 years, decided to retire earlier this spring. He joins us today on the program to talk about his history in radio broadcasting and in spreading great opera across the country. And George Preston, WNYC’s Music Director, joins us to talk about the Met Opera in the Park series of concerts this summer.
