William Rashbaum, Metro reporter for the New York Times, discusses his reporting on a NYC buildings safety inspector who falsified lead and asbestos data for more than 200 city buildings.
I hired an industrial hygienist to perform an environmental survey in my apartment in June 2009. The results were toxic levels of mold, asbestos and crystalline silica.
Prior to my testing, NYC DOH was in the building several times in 2008 during demolition of apartments in the building. No asbestos was found, nor was crystalline silica.
The landlord has refused to correct this highly toxic and illegal situation.
