Salman Rushdie: On Global Literature and ... the Yankees

Monday, April 26, 2010

During author Salman Rushdie's visit to The Leonard Lopate Show to talk up the PEN World Voices Festival, we asked him a couple of questions. Here's what he told us:

1) What are you a fan of that people might not expect?

Well, my answer is the New York Yankees which I'm an addict of and have been for a very long time, much to the annoyance of those friends of mine who are Mets fans.  But to hell with them.

2) If you only had one day left, how would you spend it in New York City?

And the obvious answer is... at Yankee Stadium.

Your Videos provide us with an excellent picture and very good sound.
I have been looking at some of them this afternoon with Leonard Lopate.

Is it possible for WNYC, to avoid one camera scanning to Lopate and his guest to add another camera eliminating this constant scanning? My recommendation, any chances that it could be done?

On the WQXR website, could you duplicate WQXR's logo to resemble yours, only in blue (as your icon's is on the internet for WQXR)? That way will convince everyone of your listeners that WNYC and WQXR are part of the same family of radio stations in NYC.

480p vs 360p. 480p is better for my computer. You come on as 360p. Is it possible to change the 369p to 480p?

Thank you, Sidney! Some great ideas here....
