Simple questions no one who advocates worker ownership answers: Where will the worker owners get the startup capital and technical background to start these business? How will a worker owned business be any different from an executive owned business when workers are faced with issues of zoning, NIMBYism, and political opposition; investor returns and Wall Street expectations if they go public; reinvestment in the business coupled with worker demands and expectations; rising fuel, healthcare, and insurance prices, etc...? When the worker on the floor has to face the issues the “guys in the air-conditioned office” face, will the end result be the same?
