Small Businesses in East Village Hang on in Recession

Is there a small business in your community that has become a local institution?  The Reverend Billy has spent many years getting to know the local deli owners, shoe repairmen and shopkeepers in the East Village, and he talked to them recently about how they are coping with the recession.
