30 issues: science

Thursday, October 07, 2004 - 04:56 PM

Science is a campaign issue in 2004 in a way it hasn't been in years. Recently a group of scientists who are irate over Bush administration policy on stem cell research, climate change, and r & d funding, have banded together to form a 527 supporting the Kerry campaign, Scientists and Engineers for Change.

On the other side of things, Bush supporters argue that the President has struck a sensible balance between the need for scientific innovation and the values and traditions of our country, furthering research in areas like nanotechnology while striking a compromise on stem cell research.
