thanks for your response
Thnx to all who responded about the comment submission problems. My PC died in August, so I was away from being able to comment* until mid-February, so guess I got back just in time for the bollixed up commenting system.
Best wishes to the IT person/people at WNYC.
*My local libary has a 30 minute limit, and PC usage has been way up since the econ problems. Bless libraries -- and librarians!
Thank you for your patience as we work through some technical issues with the comments system on our website. Rest assured, we’re working on it, and these issues will be resolved shortly. We value your listenership and your online participation!-BL Show-
"There was a problem submitting your comment."
it's a new feature, for about the last 2 weeks.i don't know if they don't care or don't know about it, but several people have complained about it
I firmly believe that corruption and greed infects both sides of the aisle, but I am astonished (at my age) of the level of vehemence that supports the Irreconcilable Differences creating the political polarity in our country. and yes,,, there is a persistant problem with submitting comments recently
There seems to be a systemic problem with this comment system - Took from before 1st caller to just now to 10:17 to get it accepted or whatever. Until there was not "problem" with submitting the comment.
Is there a trick to make this work?
Or is it a feature, not a bug of the system?
"There was a problem submitting your comment. Please try again."
Difficult to submit questions this way -- or have exchange of ideas with other commenters....
why don't the democratssuggest getting rid of IRS expensing health care and in so doing eliminate group policies.this would make a real open market
Please ask Rep. Weiner what really happened to the Pelosi promise to let him have an up or down vote on the floor of the House to substitute HR676 (or close to it) for the committee health insurance protection bill?
I fear that passage of the weak tea from the House, or heaven forfend, the weak poisoned tea from the Senate, peopel will be so turned off by 1/8th measures and higher taxes that they will reject government health CARE that WORKS.
Polls show about 60% of those polled would PREFER a government run program similar to Medicare -- WHY won't DEMS work for that?
I also fear the Corporatist bug has infected many Democratic politicians and especially our president.
Mary Matalin said something true?! She was one of the ones repeating the "there were no terrorist attacks in the Bush years."
It is NOT the case that the Republicans think that health care is a responsibility. They think that the poor and middle classes bear responsibility for ALL. The rich and big corporations have -- according to Republicans -- a right to our earnings. What else was the bailout?
Weiner is wrong about health insurers just doing what a corporation does. The health insurers should be villified. They are vile. They place profit over people's well-being. That is moral awful.
what do you think about health care and health insurance -- with the private, optional health insurance covering what is rationed by the actual health care?
That speach was brilliant!
One question - is Anthony Weiner that confident that Democrats are not in the pocket of insurance companies?
He definitely sounds like he isn't, but I'm not so sure about people like Max Baucus or some others.
I have one word for and about Rep Weiner: BRAVO!!!!
Anthony Weiner is one of the leading obstacles to bipartisanship in government. It's not just the Republicans.
since the plains states don't approve of "socialism" can we end the corn or other red state subsidies?http://www.taxfoundation.org/UserFiles/Image/Blog/ftsbs-large.jpg
will weiner stand up to lieberman, an other agent for insurance profits

Just want to thank Brian for having Anthony on the show.He is a real hero to a lot of us here in California and many other states far from NY.Can you ask him if he is familiar with Maggie Mahar's work?We also like Congressman Massa from way upstate ny.A doc told me recently that if all dems were like Anthony, he would rejoin the Dem party (he's 'independent' in protest.)Anthony makes us proud to be democrats. Keep up the good work! Please!
