Losing Section 8 Vouchers

Friday, December 18, 2009

City officials announced yesterday that, due to budget cuts and rising demand, no more Section 8 housing vouchers were available and they would revoke about 3000 that have not been fully utilized. Bill de Blasio, Brooklyn City Councilman and Public Advocate-elect, objects to the New York City Housing Authority decision.

Section 8 no. Arenas and luxury housing subsidies to Ratner and fat cat developers, Yes. When will the feds and state and local government officials start connecting these injustices?

It's all related and all disgusting.

Long overdue for Bill to start taking an actual stand.

I'm guessing workers at the Housing Authority and/or all city workers tainted by this mess are looking over their shoulders this holiday season.

As much as I resist spending Bloomberg's personal money for him, this sounds like the moment to do it.
