Guest Picks: Haifaa Al Mansour

Director Haifaa Al Mansour was on the Leonard Lopate Show recently to talk about her film, "Wadjda." It's the first feature film to be shot entirely in Saudia Arabia and it tells the story of a girl who wants to buy bicycle. She also told us who she's following on Twitter.

What have you read or seen over the past year that moved or surprised you?

         Daniel Radcliffe in the film “Kill Your Darlings.”  He was amazing!


What are you listening to right now?

         Grouplove—“Tongue Tied” was in my film and I really like their music.


What’s the last great book you read?

         The Patience Stone by Atiq Rahimi. I loved the film as well.


What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

         I follow TMZ on Twitter


What’s your favorite comfort food?

         Anything from Taco Bell
