Lee Child was on the Leonard Lopate Show recently to talk about Never Go Back, the latest installment in his Jack Reacher series. He also told us what he's been reading recently.

What have you read or seen over the past year that moved or surprised you?

        A book called Devil in the Grove (by Gilbert King) - about Thurgood Marshall, the NAACP and racial injustice in post-WWII Florida - moving and surprising.  

What are you listening to right now?

        A CD called Black Dub by Daniel Lanois

What’s the last great book you read?

        The Gods of Gotham by Lyndsay Faye - excellent historical about NYC in the 1840s and the establishment of the NYPD.


What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

        17th century English portraiture


What’s your favorite comfort food?

        Strawberry milkshake
