Five teams of teenagers are in the final minutes of honing their pitches for a new tools to combat sexual cyber bullying.

At stake?  Cash prizes, digital badges and (oh yeah!) the possibility of making the internet safer and more civil for girls.  The 25 Design Challenge participants spent the morning learning about the scope of the problem of online slut shaming and the specific goals of the tool they're designing, such as supporting victims, education, and campaigns to change social media site policies. The project came about after Radio Rookie Temitayo Fagbenle reported on the problem in her story "The Modern Day Scarlett Letter A," about how kids use social media to distribute photos and shame girls.  More soon on the winning pitches.
