I think people forget why tenure is important. People were let go when they earned high salaries and new people hired at less money. Also why should experienced people who have earned their right to teach in better schools be sent or kept in bad schools while new teachers get better assignments. Not fair to teachers or students in the better schools.

As someone who watches Road to the City Hall on ny1, Dominic Carter is really a mixed bag. For example, Dominic brings on African Americans who seldom get a lot of burn in the corporate media (i.e. Charles Baron, Al Sharpton, city council candidates from Ocean Hill, Bed-stuy etc), but sometimes his questions are pretty elementary, lack depth, and are not too penetrating.

Paterson was wrong to air his frustration the way he did but I agree with his denunciation of Dominic. Ever since he got the scoop interview in which Paterson admitted everything from cocaine to adultery, I've noticed a strong change in Dominic's demeanor on air. He's gained the look and regrettable bearing of yet another cable tv news blowhard always hunting for scandals and trying to incite rancor.

As someone who supported David Paterson when he took over, I have come to the conclusion that there is an organized campaign to undermine David Paterson. The problem is that the campaign is being masterminded by David Paterson. He is in way above his head.
