I must agree with "angela from manhattan." She hit the nail on the head: McEvers' presentations were indeed maudlin and theatrical--breathless in her involvement with the rebels. I often if she had any idea of what some of the rebels would bring to Syria if they took power. Assad, bad as he is, would be better than the jihadists she seemed so uncritical of.

I felt Kelly MvEvers was very ineffective as a reporter in the middle east, especially compared to the other female war correspondents there, and before her, due to her maudlin and theatrical presentation. She definitely got in the way of the story and actually did a disservice to both the people of Syria and to those of us wanting to know what was happening over there. Compared to her peers and predecessors, she seemed like a little girl who couldn't handle it and so couldn't even report the story. I will definitely not be patronizing her documentary. I hope she will be moving out of this field, to make room for someone else meeting a higher standard.
