The WNYC staff is busy this weekend and you can check out some of the events they recommend around town and beyond.
LIZ WEBER, manager of on-air and on-line fundraising: Liz is one of the lucky ticket holders for a benefit concert by Beck in the Prospect Park Bandshell as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn festival. The show on Sunday is sold out, but Liz says you can bring your blanket and barbecue and listen outside of the gates. It's something she does regularly and said, "You won't see Beck, but you will be able to hear him."
ALEX GOLDMARK, senior producer, WNYC news: Camping and art seem unlikely bedfellows, but you can do just that in the Hudson Valley town of Wassaic. The Wassaic Project Summer Festival is this weekend and not only will artists show off their works, but there will be dance, film, food and music. You can spend the weekend on the grounds and camp out. Alex will be in a yellow and blue tent in the back corner. Go say Hi.
CARI DRIGGS, major donors: Joe's Pub at the Public Theater is presenting the Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret on Saturday night. It's a drag show by a performer who derived her name while studying at one famous dance school. Although this show features Martha Graham Cracker backed up by a four-piece band playing mash-ups and some original material. Cari said, "She's the world's tallest and hairiest drag queen."
