Guest Picks: Lucy Walker

Friday, July 12, 2013

Director Lucy Walker was on the Lopate Show recently to talk about her new documentary “The Crash Reel.” She told us a few of the things she likes to watch, read, and eat.

What have you read or seen over the past year that moved or surprised you?

So many films! It’s too hard to pick one, but what a great time for documentaries. Invisible War springs to mind, it’s about rape in the military, so important.

What are you listening to right now?

The Crash Reel soundtrack! Lykki Li, Grizzly Bear, M83, Moby, Bon Iver, Chemical Brothers…so many wonderful artists.

What’s the last great book you read?

Force of Circumstance – Simone de Beauvoir’s autobiography

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

What’s your favorite comfort food?
