A Great Day to Be an Italian Student

Monday, October 10, 2011 - 05:03 PM

Students from La Scuola d’Italia Guglielmo Marconi marched up Fifth Avenue today, as part of the annual Columbus Day festivities. The private school, which was founded in 1977 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has students from preschool through 12th grade. According to its Web site, it is "the only school in North America that provides a classical, bilingual education rooted in the Italian and European traditions." Today was the day to show off those roots, under a blue sky and in summer-like warmth.
