Music from pianist/composer Neil Cowley, (otherwise known as Adele's pianist on "21") and the post-jazz/post-rock Neil Cowley Trio is front and center on this New Sounds program.  Listen to their recent recording, "The Face Of Mount Molehill," which brings Eno alum guitarist Leo Abrahams, along with string quartet, The Mount Molehill Strings, into the proceedings.  Reflective and stabby, lyrical yet rocking, there'll be generous sampling from it.

There's also a bit of music from Brad Mehldau Trio's record, "Ode," a collection songs that "are tributes to someone else...without all those pesky words."  Plus, music from Keith Jarrett's record "Radiance" and more.

Caucasus Mountain Music (Special Podcast)

Watch out for more music for the duduk (a reed instrument indigenous to Armenia) than you can shake a stick at!  We'll hear from the Gurdjieff Folk Instruments Ensemble, along with music from Andrew Cronshaw's latest cross-cultural collaboration (Armenian & British), "The Unbroken Surface of Snow," at times an unlikely combination of zither and duduk.
