Three Senate Candidates Hit Campaign Trail While Booker Goes for Cash

Monday, June 10, 2013

Newark Mayor Cory Booker demonstrated his advantage yesterday in the US Senate race, while also opening himself up to the very thing that aggravates his Newark constituents.

While the other Democratic candidates campaigned in New Jersey on the day signatures were due, Booker was in California, fundraising.

A Quinnipiac poll shows Booker in the lead. But US Congressman Rush Holt (D), who is in the running, doesn't think much of those predictions.

"This is an election out of the usual order of elections," Holt said. "There are only senate candidates on the ballot. And it's mid August. So anyone who says they can predict this should be regarded with skepticism.”

Mayor Booker campaigned in the State on Saturday when he announced hos candidacy before the rest of the pack. I know - I was there in Willingboro NJ when Cory appeared with Senator Bill Bradley at his side. He had done the same announcement in Newark before he rode down the turnpike to exit 5.

Who ever is making this story up is out of line and not reporting the correct information.

As far as Cory going to California, that is where he had to go to get the money to run his campaign. All politicians, including St. Chris have made use of the asset, and to condemn Cory for going where the money is does not have a true ring to it.
