Friday, June 07, 2013

Courtney B. Vance was on the Leonard Lopate Show recently to talk about his role as Hap Hairston in Nora Ephron's final play, "Lucky Guy." He also told us what he's reading these days.

What have you read or seen over the past year (book, play, film, etc…) that moved or surprised you?

William T. Coleman’s book, COUNSEL FOR THE SITUATION: Shaping the Law to Realize America’s Promise.

I’m watching ‘How It’s Made’ on the Science Channel right now.

What’s the last great book you read?

David Nasaw’s THE PATRIARCH: The Remarkable Life & Times of Joseph P. Kennedy, Walter Isaacson’s EINSTEIN, & Robert A. Caro’s THE PASSAGE OF POWER: The Years of Lyndon Johnson.

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

I’m a fan of taking cross-country driving trips and watching great Broadway musicals over & over.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

My favorite comfort food is: warm sweet potato pie with vanilla ice cream of my choice.
