The Chairman in this Report from the Chairman is Grover Whalen. He is the Chairman of the Committee of the Golden Jubilee Celebration which is set to take place in the coming weeks. The Golden Jubilee is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the consoldation of the 5 boroughs of New York City in to the Greater City of New York.
Whalen describes the Grand Central Palace - the location of the celebration. Each city department will have an exhibition within the building.For example, the Department of Water, Gas and Electric will have what is described as a "hall of water wizardry" Whalen describes the exposition as a "panorama of progress" that will also include a fashion show with 115 models parading down a circular ramp within the building and wearing dramatic clothes selected from every price range.
The program closes with the song "Manhattan" by Lorenz Hart and Richard Rogers.
