When I flicked on this segment in the car, I almost thought I was listening to an episode of Portlandia - The level of ridiculousness of this set of guests was beyond anything I could have dreamed up myself. They bring their own glassware to restaurants so as to properly enjoy the wine they're also BYOBing? Life is too short to be so pretentious!!! I study and research food trends for a living and also am a rather solid home cook, so I know my way quite well around a flavor pairing. But these two should be recurring characters on some kind of show that mocks food enthusiasts. Thanks for the chuckle, Leonard.
16-oz. steaks? In Argentina, maybe, but I wouldn't assume that applies in Chile, or anywhere else in South America. Methinks the guests overgeneralize.

I don't get the whole idea that only certain wines can go w/certain foods. Some people seem to think this is the only aspect of eating where people can't have different tastes.
I love when people bring wine to see what they're into...
