You are missing The Point. People are already rooted here and have taken root in the shadows.

From its very inception, Islam was far more than just a "religion." It was EVERYTHING and encompassed everything in life. Islam is/was an "umma" or peoplehood, and God's Will on Earth. The world is divided between Dar Al Islam (the Abode of Submission to the Will of Allah and Peace), and the Dar Al Harb (or the Abode of Chaos and Struggle).

In the 20th century, many liberation groups took on the mantle of Communism as their means of liberation. In more recent times, especially after the defeat of Communism, many liberation struggles (including the Chechens and other Caucasus peoples) have taken on the cloak of Islamism and the belief that their liberation can only come through the achievement of the Caliphate, or God's rule on earth as they believe it to be.

So the link between some liberation movements and their cloaking themselves within the Islamic revolution should come as no surprise to anyone.

A question that I cannot seem to find the answer to: will undocumented immigrants, if the bill is passed, be able to travel outside of the United States while waiting potentially ten years for citizenship?

It's amnesty and it's wrong. People broke the rules, jumped the line and they're getting rewarded for it. It's going to unleash a DELUGE of people crossing into the country without permission.
