Poet-In-Residence: Hour Two

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

To celebrate National Poetry Month, spoken word artist Roland Legiardi-Laura joins us in the studio to poet-ize throughout the show. Plus, we'll hear from listeners who answered our challenge to versify about their favorite show segments. Join in by sending your poem to, and start each poem with the words “I heard.”

Dear Commenters,

First, thanks for all your supportive comments
Second--Kai-OS -- I did feel like it was good hard work.. But the folks at the BL show were working about as hard as I have ever seen a team of folks work...If only the rest of the world could be as efficient, supportive and good natured...
Megan, Don't believe anyone who tells you they know what makes a good poem! You'll know it when you hear it or read it.
Thanks again,

I love poetry.

Anyone know:

What makes a good poem?

I heard an angel singing to me about you.
I close my eyes and see you.
You invade my every dream every night,
even though you are so far away and I haven't seen you in so long.
You have invaded my heart and mind.
you will always be the love of my heart.
As, I dream tonight, the angel will sing to me of you and the love I knew with you that was the purest thing in my life.
Forever and always.
