OFA and Obama's Big Money

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

The Obama campaign operation has turned into a big-money PAC. Nicholas Confessore, politics reporter covering lobbying and campaign finance for The New York Times, discusses Organizing for Action and how it's using large donors to lobby around 2nd-term policy issues like gun control.

OFA's Response to the FAQ "Does President Obama Support the Establishment and Activities of OFA?"

OFA is advocating for the agenda that President Obama has presented to the nation, and as an organization dedicated to this purpose, OFA has been grateful for the expression of support for its work by the President, Vice President and First Lady. Although it was privately established and will be privately operated, without government funding, OFA will work hard to retain the support and confidence of the President by effectively advocating for his Administration's core agenda. It also looks forward to working with other civic organizations that are similarly committed to the successful enactment of this agenda.

Martin Chuzzlewit from Manhattan -- Citing "the Chinese" (the entire country? That's asking a lot) is a change of pace from the usual conservative "check out some proto-fascist pro-Putin Russian website I heard about this at. It'll open your eyes to who's really running things (hint: shape-shifting space aliens), as well as make you wish you could find a decent pirozhki in your neighborhood."

martin, I hope that you'll let your fellow conservatives know that you're now siding with China on corruption. What's next, quoting the taliban to support your wacko ideas?

Confessore admits that-

“Unlike a presidential campaign, Organizing for Action has been set up as a tax-exempt “social welfare group.””

....and....

“At least HALF of the group’s budget will come from a SELECT group of donors who will....”

.... ah, receive lucrative “green energy” contracts for “sustainable energy projects”(LOL) paid for by taxpayers’ money that will eventually go bankrupt, but make them billionaires like our old friend Al Gore?? Duh !

LEFT WING CORRUPTION is as bad as any other (ask the Chinese) .... just dressed up with “social justice” frilly lace to placate NPR Land.
