Please. The "Senate Ethics Committee" is another classic oxymoron like "Army Intelligence."

This is an elected body of representatives who finally got around to making it illegal for Congressmen and Senators to trade on inside information... after stealing millions of dollars from the public (see: Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry). It took multiple books, a 60 Minutes burning segment and OWS outrage to get it done.

On average, they're leeches with lifetime pensions who spend more time fundraising than governing.

The usual childishness of the American voter. When a politician is corrupt, OK. When a politician is takes huge campaign contributions and he/she then votes for the donor’s interests OK. When a politician gets a pay off by getting a no show job post office, OK. But if he or she has a sex life outside marriage, forget it he is out.

Sen David Vitter was playing around on the side....even texting a madam from the Senate floor.....and he's still in office.

What hypocrisy!

$57,000? Those carry-on luggage charges are getting way out of hand.

I can finally say I am proud of this show!

This is the type of story that should be covered and exposed every single day on WNYC. Our elected officials on both sides of the aisle are milking the system with impunity.

Politics as usual (dirty tricks?) Menendez is being roasted in the media based on spurious, unproven accusations. If only to distract (pre-empt)him from running for governor?

Planes are expensive to operate. I private jet needs a crew (who often need to be paid even when not flying), fuel, and maintenance. With only two passengers, the cost per passenger is high.

New Jersey's own Silvio Berlusconi?

Can someone please explain how an airplane trip (or two) costs $57,000? What on earth was happening on that plane? No one is asking that.
