James from Manhattan...with your logic we shouldn't assist children, the unemployed, the elderly, etc..I live in a country where government helps those who can't help themselves...what country do you live in?
Go corrupt NYC politics!!
Business as usual.
Thank you James !!Her Dad is currently headed to the big house. So again as you can see the Queens Democratic machine lives on.
Donald Manes is rolling in his grave
Ah, yes... the promise of saving the future life of a single child is always worth more than current lives of everyone else on the planet.
Sandy money for churches? Churches don't pay taxes. By what logic should they receive public support if they don't contribute to the financing?
The SANE, RATIONAL and SMART healthcare professional/caller - THANK YOU!!!
Attempting to turn shrinks into ineffective policemen is a VERY BAD idea. We DO NOT need a de facto, Huxleyan thought-police force. We NEED universal healthcare and high quality mental health care facilities.
We don't need mental healthcare providers ratting-out their patients on what is almost always considered subjective criteria. The result will definitely be COUNTERPRODUCTIVE. People suffering from potentially violent emotional problems WILL NOT seek help for fear of being reported. Isolation is the ABSOLUTE WORST thing that can happen to a emotionally disturbed individual. This is a VERY DANGEROUS situation.
The solution is access, compassion, empathy and destigmatization.
THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS!
Brian, please ask the congresswoman what she thinking of us, blue state tax payers supporting all those in the poor failed red states?
Ask her about her Dad ...Brian
Congratulations on your election to Congress! Could you take a moment to comment on my two largest concerns regarding 'the Peoples House'?
1) What are your thoughts on the level of representation in the House of Representatives? Is a ratio of 700,000 to 1 a suitable 'representation'? If we followed the ratio of the Constitutional amendment that was passed - some consider if it to also have been ratified - the ratio should be 50,000 to 1. The House would need to grow by 14 times!
2) Due to gerrymandering after the 2010 census, the party that enjoys majority status in the House is NOT the party that received the most votes. In your opinion, is this a coup? A subjugation of majority rule? Or just 'one of those things' that will even out in the long run?
Good luck in your term. I hope your constituents are happy with your work enough to re-elect you.
