Academy Award–winning actor Jeff Bridges and his Buddhist teacher, renowned Roshi Bernie Glassman, talk about their long friendship and their new book, The Dude and the Zen Master.
What a great segment. At first I thought these two sounded like an unlikely pair, but after listening all the way through, no, they are wonderful together. I was very moved to hear Bernie's comments at the end about the retreats he's organized at Auschwitz and in Rwanda. Now that is truly an attempt to open and to make peace.
This conversation is completely random -- and the book is based on this? I hope that literature is not succumbing to the black hole of "reality" celebrity entertainment.
Please ask Bernie, "What is the attraction of Jews to Buddhism?" hence the Jew-bu term. Please, I'm so curious!
