Marion Cunningham encouraged home cooks to embrace the joys of the kitchen, and counted James Beard, Judith Jones, Ruth Reichl, and Alice Waters among her friends and admirers. She died in July at the age of 90, and to remember her and her legacy, we’re re-airing selections of an interview I did with her in May 1999, about her book Learning to Cook.
