Over 100 homes in the Breezy Point neighborhood in Queens burned to the ground during Sandy. Hundreds of other homes there were flooded. WNYC’s Stephen Nessen headed out and documented the destruction, which can be seen on The Weekly Flickr.

He met one couple returning to the neighborhood for the first time since the storm and had this report. He shot photos and spoke on The Weekly Flickr, a show produced by Yahoo, about his experience.

You can see more of Stephen Nessen's photos from Breezy Point and other areas of the city that suffered damage from Sandy here.
