WNYC & WQXR radio! I lived in NYC for 30 years and moved away a year ago but stay in touch through radio. WNYC is the voice of NYC -- informing and allowing citizens to speak for themselves and to each other. Few other cities have such a resource -- and when it is absent it is sorely missed.

The old time Broadway musical people, who may not have made it big, but who are wonderful, and populate the culture in a number of ways, for example the piano bars, esply Brandy's.

Real New Yorkers don't set foot in Times Square.

This Magazine issue belongs in hotel rooms of Manhattan - 'nuff said.

Nope, can't come up with anything special. No need to further bloat the oversized ego! Nothing special. Born and raised and permanent resident am I.

75. Knowing Bloomberg won't be mayor much longer (unless, of course, he once again defies the wishes of the citizenry and changes the rules in his favor).

I find that New York Magazine is out of touch with a great swath of New York City.
At least WNYC (also selective demo) is democratizing this process, a bit.
Ask people what earnings bracket they fall in to and you start to tell a different story.

reasons to love NYC? c'mon, this can't be quantified- this is the best city in so many ways and for countless reasons. but one thing that does not contribute to our greatness is the worthless, gossip rag called New York Magazine!

New York City has more churches and houses of worship than probably any other city, they're all over and some go back centuries. The people of NYC are very religious.
