Donald Fagen, one of the two masterminds behind Steely Dan, talks about his latest solo album, “Sunken Condos.” He's joined by Michael Leonhart, who produced the album.
Michael B, you obviously haven't listened to their albums. Steely Dan produced some of the richest and most beautiful rock/jazz/fusion music of the late 20th century. Before you declare them boring, listen to their albums, all of them, and pay attention. If after that you still find them boring, well, there's no accounting for tastes.
Try again, MichaelB...You are rating them on their popular tunes. Actually LISTEN to an entire LP.
Question for the guests...Why isn't Chicago in the RRHOF? What about Terry Kath?
Steely Dan? They sound like nice guys, but to these ears, their sound is too dense and too repetitive and bores me to tears.... If you've heard one Steely Dan tune, you've heard them all.
