Funny! 21 years ago, and just 3 months after I arrived in NYC from Paris, my apartment on Attorney St. was broken into while I was away on Christmas Day. The thieves took not just small electronics like radio-alarm and hairdryer, but also my futon bed, including the frame, the sheets and pillows, my PJs under the pillow, the shower curtain, towels, a wine rack, a pet-carrier (thankfully leaving my 2 siamese kittens who huddled behind the stove until I got back the next day). The laundry bag was emptied but the contents were left strewn around my now empty bedroom--obviously my wardrobe didn't suit the burglar!
