-Strut your stuff!  Your submission (if selected) will be featured on the website after competition.
-ENTER ENTER ENTER – we’re not snobs, and your work is really wanted!

WHO SLAMS?!:
-Anyone between the ages 13-23
-Anyone who has something to say about our lives, our communities, and our world!

WHAT’S SLAMMED?!
-Any kind of non-fiction multimedia production.
-Designed and created primarily to be played on a digital platform—internet, mobile device, and or broadcasted on radio or tv.
-For example - still shots with audio, audio slide shows, animation, video made for a web-based platform, motion graphics.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
Chosen submissions will play at the competition with Producers/Reporters present on stage. Competitors will go through 4 rounds of live judging. In each round, only one minute of your piece will be judged. You can enter a 4-minute piece, or pick which individual 4 minutes you want us to play of a longer piece. Or, if you have a longer piece you could consider doing a shorter version for the Slam!
The judges will score the pieces right then and there and determine which ones advance to the next round. So, in round one, we hear minute one, and in round two, we hear your chosen minute two. This means that each minute has to be compelling enough that we’ll want to hear more. Once your submission is chosen you must be present to participate in the slam, otherwise your spot will be given to the next eligible entrant.
** DEADLINE EXTENDED** OCTOBER 4th, 2012 @MIDNIGHT

THE JUDGING:
THE JUDGES: media pros from radio, print, and film – hold notebooks and markers, and watch, listen, evaluate.  In addition,
the People’s Choice Award lets live audience members use text-polling to vote for their choice.
THEIR JOB: to judge each minute on the spot, using a scale of 1-10.
THE STAKES: BRAGGING RIGHTS + $500 GRAND PRIZE, $250 2nd PRIZE, $100 3rd PRIZE, and $100 AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD
