Graphic novelist Marjane Satrapi was on the Leonard Lopate Show recently to talk about writing and directing the film, "Chicken with Plums," based on her book. She also told us about throwing knives and why she listens to klezmer music...

What have you read or seen over the past year (book, play, film, etc…) that moved or surprised you?

        The movie “The Angels’ Share,” directed by Ken Loach.


What are you listening to right now?

        Lately I have listened to lots of klezmer music. That puts me in a good mood.


What’s the last great book you read?

        The Idiot by Dostoyevsky. That was for the second time.


What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

        Throwing knife.


What’s your favorite comfort food?

        Fried chicken with lots of ketchup.
