If it were up to me the US would have what? Edward, you need to go have a lay down, what utter nonsense you speak.

And for you to compare (I didn't) the irreverent narrative of America's beginnings, via Columbus/Native Americans to a modern state holding on conquered land - shows off you "radical" roots.

In reference to Edward's babble:

Apologies to my mother. She warned me it's fruitless to argue with idiots, but I failed to heed her advice.

"Unlike you, I do not believe in ethnic chauvinism or state conquest".

meatnyc, You are a European. Not a Native American. Not a First Peoples.

meatnyc, You are an OCCUPIER. An outsider. A hypocrite as well. You are a beneficiary of the European genocide of the Native American people of North America.

meatnyc, Please, no double standards, particularly from a left wing imperialist hypocrite European.

If you chose to live without money, to live off the land, you are free to. There are many homeless people in NYC. You can join them.

Sheldon the Hypocrite from Brooklyn said;
"Respectfully Edward, you know NOTHING about me, so please don't "consider." "

NOTHING? Wrong again "Comrade". Your posts build a profile of you. Call it data aggregation. If it were up to you the US would collapsed after 9/11.

P.S. I expect Obama to be the next one term President. From I read, even the wacko neo-commies are unhappy with Obama.

Respectfully Edward, you know NOTHING about me, so please don't "consider."

Unlike you, I do not believe in ethnic chauvinism or state conquest. If it were up to you, Saddam would be able to keep Kuwait, and the Soviets - Eastern Europe.

I'm a American of European ancestry. I spent a summer on a Seneca reservation in upstate NY while in college doing combination volunteer/anthropology class, and know quite a few Native Americans. Most of the ones I know would have no problem with SHARING the land with those that respect the environment and share their the believe that no-one owns the land (IE Progressives). Most of them would be happy to have more "progressives" but don't like the right-winger nut jobs like you.

On the other hand, most of the Palestinians I know don't really want the Israeli Occupation to continue.

Here's an idea!! Why not have the UN declare the Sinai peninsula a Holy Land, open only to clerics and their followers. Religious extremists of every stripe should be given free passage. Let them toil to obtain food in the desert, get water from arid areas, and generally get to learn what it means to survive in this world. I guarantee they would not last more than a generation.

Sheldon from Brooklyn, Considering that you are not a Native American, if you are indeed against Occupation, Brutal, Racist Occupation, then you should pack up your crap and LEAVE North America.

That also applies to all Europeans, Africans and Asians.

No Double Standards, especially from "progressive" hypocrites.

Attn: Martin Chuzzlewit. You seem to imply that a Republican President in Washington would not take a "flexible" approach to the Sinai. Are Republican voters looking for another excuse to invade the Middle East to extract oil and natural gas and install more US military bases? A DE-militarized zone is the only way to ensure peace. Maybe an international presence could ensure this.

You justifying a State holding on to and annexing land during peacetime(whether justifiably occupied or not - at the time of war,) that's clearly not theirs under international law. That's what Stalin, colonists, or Nazis believed in.

Does Mr. Gergest belive that Al Qada is involved in the fighting in Syria?

I was waiting for him to blame Israeli. Took a little longer than usual.

Of course, utopia will break out in the Middle East once Israel gives back land... you know, like in Gaza.

So now I'm a Stalinist? I've been justly accused of being a Zionist, but being accused of being a Stalinist is new one for me :)

There already is a two-state solution.

Israel and Jordan.

Perhaps Mr. Gerges wants a three/four/five state solution.

The Islamists are just waiting until after Barry Hussein Obama's re-election....when he will have more "flexibility"....just as with Vladimir.

Israel, watch your back.

What is Morsi doing to protect the Coptic Christians of Egypt from attacks from Islamists?

Aug. 15 2012 11:38 AM
Martin Chuzzlewit from Manhattan

"Egypt's Morsi Studying Amendment of Camp David Accords with Israel
President Mohamed Morsi is studying whether to amend the Camp David Accords to ensure Egypt's full sovereignty and control over every inch of Sinai, said Mohamed Gadallah, legal adviser to the president. Calls for amending the peace treaty with Israel have been on the rise since last week's attack on a military checkpoint in Sinai left 16 Egyptian security officers dead." (Al-Masry Al-Youm-Egypt Independent)

President "You didn't build that!" Barry Hussein Obama is too busy campaigning to pay attention to dangerous developments like the one above.

Jimmy Carter, Worst US President EVER, and thankfully a One-Term President.

Aug. 15 2012 11:32 AM
jgarbuz from Queens

This whole mess is only because Israel gave back the Sinai to Egypt under pressure from Jimmy Carter. Treaties mean nothing to these Islamists, because they go strictly by Sharia, and not by "international treaties."

The US is great at forcing Israel to give back land won fair and square by Israel in DEFENSIVE wars, but where is the US when rockets fly into Israel from Gaza? If Israel had never given up the Sinai, it would be in great shape! It had its airfields in Sinai, it had the oil and natural gas from Sinai, and had Gaza totally surrounded, with no possibility of tunnels, or rockets getting into Gaza. And its airfields and missile basis would be spread out in Sinai, and not cramped into tiny little Israel itself. If it were between keeping Sinai and not getting US aid, it would have been much preferable. These phony "peace treaties" with Muslim states are worthless.
